Why we go "down
the shore"
Looking at a map, if you wanted to get to a beach you had to go
"down" the state - and, looking at a map, toward the "shoreline."
Since most of the Jersey population was clumped in North Jersey
(and statistically still is), it is the perception of these individuals
that influence the slang of all Jerseyans. "Down the shore"
it is.

Since 1833, the Martin family
had made the Martin guitar in America. In fact, sometime around
1800, George Martin was noted for perfecting the modern guitar design
in Germany.

First of all, our children love a Broadway show as much
as any of the above preoccupations. We try to have a family trip
to a NY show on the calendar for sometime out in the future. It
helps us remember and we get to plan a day in the city and a show
